My name is Elizabeth Roberts and I am so excited to start my 4th year at Spicewood Elementary and 6th year teaching kindergarten! I was born in Houston but fell in love with the city of Austin when I attended the University of Texas (hook 'em!), where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education for grades PK-6. I am certified to teach ESL and GT students. My previous experience includes teaching kindergarten at an IB school in Houston and working in 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. I am so thankful to be teaching at another IB campus where I can share my passion for international-mindedness, inquiry, and life-long learning. I have completed IB PYP trainings in categories 1, 2, and 3. I love working in the primary grades and creating the foundation students need to be successful readers and writers. The core of my teaching philosophy is the belief that every student can succeed. Each child comes into my classroom with different abilities and needs and it is my goal to push each one of them to their full potential.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, and exploring all that the city of Austin has to offer. I also love to spend time with family and friends and cheer on the Longhorns. I am looking forward to getting to know each student and their families this year. It’s going to be a great one!
